A New Model for Effective Team Leadership
Note: This post has 2 components to it:
1. To introduce a new model for team leadership
2. To share an authoring tool that can be used for just-in-time training and on an app.
It is my firm belief that to lead and manage a team effectively, hierarchal design is not as effective as something called The Bicycle Model. May sound a little quirkey, but check out this short lesson.
I would usually share this type of lesson on my 1% Edge Blog, but I mentioned a while back that I was going to start to use different authoring tools as I roll out the complete management training program (that I currently do as a workshop Manager as Coach) for the app The 1% Edge Portable Coach.
I have been doing research on tools that afford spontaneity, fluid expression (ease of use & access), and can be shared across a variety of technologies including my app platform. Honestly, this has been down right fun!!!
This lesson comes courtesy the Educreations App, but can also be used online with access management - which is a bonus (http://www.educreations.com/). I created it on my iPad and an inexpensive Targus Stylus ($15.00).
By the way, since this blog has it's place on the app, you can also view it there. Just located the HR Tab on the app.
By the way, I have in my twitter feed many educators. So many of my ideas are coming from that community. To my ASTD / HR / SHRM colleagues...if we are going to attract, train, and retain talent (particularly with restricted budgets) - these kinds of tools/capabilities will no longer be an option in our individual professional capabilities, but a competency. This is no longer just for our tech folks!
The good news - several of the tools I'll be demonstrating are free!! Yippie!
